DITMAS PARK

MBD was engaged to provide a full-scale design transformation of this Ditmas Park home, reimagining every level to better serve a growing family while elevating the architectural character throughout.

The scope included excavating the basement to achieve full ceiling height, creating a bright and expansive play space. A completely new kitchen was designed with custom millwork, while the children’s bathroom and two guest bathrooms were fully renovated with thoughtful and playful finishes.

The top floor of the home,  once an unfinished attic, was transformed into an entirely new primary suite. The retreat includes an enormous custom walk-in closet, a built-in coffee bar with refrigerator for early mornings and late-night snacks, and a stunning marble-and-brass bathroom featuring a steam shower and a luxurious soaking tub. A playful yet highly practical detail, MBD included a hidden laundry chute concealed within the primary bath vanity which connects directly to the second-floor laundry room.

On the main level, MBD introduced a floating marble vanity in the powder room, paired with striking ceiling wallpaper and a Fantini faucet, creating a dramatic jewel-box moment. A dual-sided fireplace elegantly separates the dining room from a cozy man cave, allowing both spaces to feel connected yet distinct.

The result is a thoughtfully engineered and beautifully detailed home that blends comfort, creativity, and refined design at every turn.
