HOLIDAY BASH 2016
This week, I checked in with a few of Sweeten’s interior designers to see what’s taking shape in apartments across the City. I found simple and smart ideas that bring a fresh eye to any home. Below are a few spring-ready snapshots, highlighting some of my favorite themes:
It only took one (sneak) peek at this Brooklyn Heights office space for us to see that the folks at Homepolish — the interior geniuses responsible for the streamlined makeover — know what they're doing. Whether it's a total renovation or culling the perfect finishing touches, designer work by the hour to create a balanced space that just works.
Homepolish designer Michele Bitter suggests choosing furniture that doubles as storage like this coffee table from West Elm. Michele also says that contrary to popular belief, a larger rug — or a couple rugs layered on top of each other — makes a small room look bigger!

What Should Be on the Outdoor Table: A lantern—not too big, not too small. When it gets dark, your dinner guests should be able to see what they're eating. Plus, lantern candle holders make easy, elegant centerpieces. Pick a style that is small enough so people can see one another, says Michele Bitter, senior designer at Homepolish.
10 Signs That You Are Married To An Interior Designer
Interior designers are mind readers— after one conversation with a new client they have an innate skill of knowing what their client wants. We thought it would be neat to hop inside the creative, yet complicated, mind of an interior designer and see what it’s like in there. Better yet, let’s see what it is like to live with one.
