Previously owned by music enthusiasts who hosted concerts in the great room, the duplex was originally enveloped in dark velvet-padded walls, creating a dramatic yet heavy atmosphere. MBD reimagined the space entirely, transforming it into a luminous and welcoming home for the clients and their two college-bound children.

Embracing the clients’ confidence and creativity, the design celebrates bold choices through custom millwork, vibrant paint colors, and distinctive furniture selections throughout. The kitchen was fully renovated with bespoke cabinetry and outfitted with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances, balancing high performance with refined design.

Every furniture piece and light fixture was thoughtfully sourced or custom designed, blending bespoke craftsmanship with curated vintage finds. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind residence, anchored by a dramatic double-height great room that now feels both expansive and inviting.
