MBD transformed this apartment in a building which was a former printing press in West Chelsea into an open-concept, party-friendly loft designed for effortless entertaining. The building’s original 11-foot ceilings provided a dramatic architectural backdrop, allowing for oversized vintage light fixtures that make striking statements in both the living room and the primary bedroom.

By opening the wall between the main living area and the bedroom, MBD enhanced the natural flow of the one-bedroom loft, creating a flexible and expansive space ideal for gatherings while maintaining a sense of intimacy.

Creative problem-solving extended to every detail. In the second bathroom, MBD designed a custom vanity that discreetly conceals the cat’s litter box; complete with a hidden private access door and heated floors for added comfort. The thoughtful integration of this unique feature reflects the project’s balance of sophistication, humor, and highly personalized design.

The result is a loft that honors its industrial history while embracing modern luxury and livable elegance.
